Hello friends, in this episode we are going to be treating stretch marks…

Stretch marks are visible lines on the skin surface with a shade of the color of the skin. They are mostly found in areas of adipose accumulation including the abdominal wall, thighs, upper arms, buttocks and breast. Pregnancy is the main cause behind stretch marks, other reasons can be sudden gain or loss in weight, rapid growth, hereditary factor, stress and reaction to body creams.

They are formed in the dermis (middle layer of the skin) when the connective tissue is stretched beyond the power of its flexibility due to rapid expansion of the skin. Regardless of your skin tone or complexion you are not exempted from having these marks. For people with darker skin the lines appear to be lighter than their natural color. As for lighter and fairer skin the marks will have pinkish color so no matter what your complexion is, these marks will always impact your looks unless you do something about them.

Stretch marks can be genetic; having a mother who had stretch marks can cause the appearance of these lines on your skin. Obese people who lose significant amount of weight quickly are also prone to have stretch marks. There are several natural ways to reduce the appearance of stretch marks.

It cannot be completely removed but the nasty appearance of the lines can be minimized by keeping the skin properly hydrated. Special creams can also give your skin that smooth and supple quality while reducing the itchy feeling on your stomach during the third trimester of your pregnancy.

Sugar can be used to exfoliate your skin. Mix a table spoon of sugar with some almond oil and a few drops of lemon juice, mix it well and apply on the affected areas and other skin areas.Gently rub the mixtures on the skin for a few minutes every day before taking your shower. Repeat this for a month and watch the stretch marks become lighter. Natural white sugar is one of the best natural remedies to get rid of stretch marks.

Whip the whites of two eggs gently with a fork. Clean the affected skin area with water and apply a thick layer of egg whites. Allow the egg whites to dry completely and then rinse the area with cold water. Finally apply some olive oil on the skin to keep it moisturized. Repeat this process for at least 2 weeks every day and observe the changes.

Lemon juice is naturally acidic which helps heal and reduce the marks. Rub fresh lemon juice gently onto the stretch marks in a circular motion. Allow the lemon juice to soak your face for at least 10 minutes before rinsing it off with warm water. You can also mix equal quantities of lemon juice and cucumber juice and apply the mixture on the marks.

We will continue with other remedies in the next series.
