Reasons why you suddenly start bleeding

Bleeding is Normal

Bleeding happens sometimes and leads to chronic condition and emergency if not arrested on time. However bleeding is never planned but consequence of some things in the body that alert you of a faulty system; the blood is virtually the fuel that keeps the body living at every moment. When the blood become reduced or stops flowing, the person dies immediately.

Some people bleeds naturally while some don’t, but the fact remains that when someone starts bleeding, controlled measures is a matter of urgency.

The Reasons you could start bleeding
  1. Hormonal imbalance.

Irregular secretion of hormones like estrogen, prolactin, testosterone, follicle stimulating hormones could lead to excess bleeding during and after menstruation.

2. Pile

The anus is the gateway for passage of waste products out of the body (in form of faeces). When hard stools forces through the anus will lead to a rapture of the blood vessels supply blood to the cells in anus; and conversely blood rushes out and stains the stool at that particular time.

  1. Premenstrual symptoms.

Excessive bleeding could also occur as a sign of menopause symptoms which could be easily managed by taking some medications.

  1. Threatened abortion.

Evidently when the foetus dies or about to come out prematurely; blood and other discharges like Fluids and particles comes initially in large volume.

  1. Untreated infection.

Urinary tract infections caused by bacterial, like streptococcus, klebseilla spp and so on. My interaction with some patients who complains of blood stains after sex. 7 out of 10 women who report with bleeding or after sex; and then sent for laboratory procedure, give a result of the presence of an organism.

  1. Ovarian cyst.

Presence of fibroid also caused excessive bleeding. A cyst is an outer membrane growth in the ovarian cavity and sometimes gets busted producing blood and other fluids from the uterine wall. Women who have reported at our center also show presence of a cyst (or fibroid) after a pelvic scan and other imaging with symptoms of cramps, bleeding; some also complain of large lumps of blood through the vagina.

  1. Deficiency of Vitamin k.

Take prompt action when bleeding starts and doesn’t stop..
